He that abides in the secret place of the Almighty God has outrageous protection. No matter what comes to us, our Lord is capable of seeing us through whatever it is, with victory. The awesome Word of God is our refuge and strength.
Let’s think back on the three young Jewish men, who, against all odds, chose to believe in God rather than the ruler of that time. Their words were: “O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand O King“. I like this part. “But if not, be it known unto thee, O King, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast made” (KJV) Daniel 3:16-18. These young men had a hard decision to make. It involved their lives being taken or give in and follow the crowd. They choose to stand strong in their faith that God would make all things alright. Now you know that this made the ruler so angry that he increased their punishment to seven times greater than normal, but that did not change their minds or God’s plan. The Lord not only allowed this to happen, he got in there with them and did not allow any harm to them. How do you like that outcome?
God is always up to something good. God has never left his people without protection or a warning. He protects us when we aren’t even aware that we are being covered. And he always sends a warning if and when something is about to come our way. The Lord is such an awesome savior. Now, who wouldn’t serve a God like this?
As we hide the Word of the Lord in our heart, soul, and mind, we are given the opportunity to have a place of refuge available to run to when needed. His word gives us ammunition to fight off Satan’s attacks. Our words alone will not do it, we need the all-powerful Word of the Lord. The Bible tells us that we who are blood-bought and blood-washed have the same power that raised up Christ Jesus. Romans 8:11 (KJV) states, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you“. We have God’s power in us to make things happen. Never underestimate what God has put in you.
A place of refuge is always found in the Word of the Lord. We can meet him in the sanctuary, not always the physical building but in the special place where just you and He can commune. You enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise. You open yourself up to hearing from him. Remember that God adds and multiplies. It is Satan who divides and subtracts.
